This privacy policy explains what happens when you browse the catalog, change your analytics settings, view game artwork, or follow a game link. The site is a discovery guide, with no account system, checkout, public comments, or database of personal game profiles. You can read its pages and find a game without registering.
Your analytics choice applies to this site. It does not control itch.io, a game creator's website, an embedded game provider, or the browser you use. Those services have their own practices, and this page explains where those separate interactions begin.
Information needed to deliver the site
Loading a webpage requires a network request. The hosting service can receive technical information such as your IP address, the requested address, the time of the request, and browser information included in request headers. Cloudflare provides the hosting infrastructure and may process request and security information to deliver pages and protect the service.
These requests happen whether you accept optional analytics or decline it. They are different from measuring which game buttons visitors choose. Hosting records may be available to the operator through the provider's tools, depending on the configuration in use. No indefinite retention period is promised here; the operator needs to check the actual settings and available records when handling a relevant request.
See Cloudflare's privacy policy for the provider's broader practices. Other services involved in your connection may process information independently.
Remembering your analytics choice
Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity load by default when you visit. There is no initial analytics prompt. You can turn them off through Privacy settings in the footer. The site uses your browser's local storage to remember a choice made there. This small record is stored under trend-arcade-consent and contains a preference version, your choice, and an expiry date. A saved choice expires after 180 days; analytics can then resume under the default setting unless you turn them off again.
Local storage belongs to the browser and site origin where you made the choice. It does not automatically follow you to another device, browser, or domain. Clearing site data can remove it. Without a valid saved choice, the site uses its default enabled setting. If storage is unavailable, a preference cannot be reliably remembered for a later visit.
You can reopen Privacy settings from the footer to review or change the choice. Turning analytics off leaves the catalog, guides, sharing features, and game links available. The preference record is needed to respect your selection, so it is separate from analytics cookies that a provider may use while measurement is enabled.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics 4 helps us understand use of the site. Its script loads in your browser after the page becomes interactive, unless this browser has a valid saved opt-out. The integration uses the site's configured public measurement identifier. The monitoring summary above describes this default behavior; your current browser choice is shown in Privacy settings.
The site's intended measurement is limited to page views and coarse actions: opening an external game, starting an embedded game, and sharing a game page. These actions use the events play_external, play_embed, and share_game, with the game's catalog identifier as game_slug. They do not include a player's score, game moves, or the text typed into catalog search.
Page measurements use the route without its query string or fragment. Query strings are also removed from referrer URLs sent by the site's measurement code. Advertising consent stays denied. The operator must disable Google Analytics enhanced measurement and automatic history-based page views in the provider settings so that extra events or duplicate navigation measurements are not added to this setup.
Google may process device, network, and service information under its own terms. Consult Google's privacy policy for its wider practices. The site cannot guarantee that provider-held data is limited solely to the event fields it explicitly sends.
Microsoft Clarity
Microsoft Clarity also loads by default, unless this browser has a valid saved opt-out. It can help identify confusing navigation or layout problems through information about page interactions. Its script uses the site's public project identifier. Microsoft's handling of that information is separate from the site's own content files and locally stored analytics preference.
The integration grants analytics storage consent and denies advertising storage consent. It uses coarse game-action labels rather than sending gameplay results. The catalog search interface and game media area are marked for masking, which is intended to reduce exposure of typed search text and third-party game content in recordings.
Masking is a precaution, rather than a guarantee that every provider-side record contains no personal information. The site does not have access to the internal state of a game hosted on another origin, and it does not instruct Clarity to collect a score or a player's game keystrokes. See the Microsoft privacy statement for Microsoft's broader processing and privacy controls.
Turning analytics off
If you turn analytics off, the site records that choice, sends denial signals to the active integrations, disables Google Analytics measurement, and stops Clarity. It also attempts to remove the provider cookies that are accessible for the current host or domain. When the preference can be saved, the page reloads so the next load can proceed without those scripts.
Cookie removal has practical limits. A page cannot delete every cookie stored by another domain or every item managed inside a provider's systems. Your browser's site-data controls may offer additional ways to clear local information. Closing an external game tab or leaving an embedded game is a separate action from changing this site's analytics setting.
Your saved opt-out prevents future analytics loading until the preference expires or you enable analytics again. It does not recall information already transmitted, erase previously generated provider reports, or reverse separate requests made to an outside game service. Contact the operator for questions about data within its control, and use the relevant provider's controls for provider-held information.
Artwork, embedded games, and outside links
Game artwork is loaded from img.itch.zone. Your browser contacts that image service when an image is requested, including during ordinary page browsing. The service receives request information such as your IP address and browser headers. Declining optional site analytics does not prevent these image requests, because artwork is part of the catalog pages.
The Krillion page loads an embedded version from ZapGames as soon as you open the page. Its player can load additional content from krillionio.com when started. These services receive their own network requests and may use storage or other services. Other embedded entries may wait for a start action, as their page explains. Optional catalog analytics consent does not control these game-provider requests. Use Stop game or leave the page to stop further embedded interaction; stopping does not undo requests already made. The original creator's site is a separate destination with its own practices.
External links open a new tab with referrer-suppressing link attributes. The destination still receives a direct request from your browser and can apply its own policies. itch.io explains its practices in its privacy policy. Check the destination before entering account information, downloading files, or making a purchase; this site does not process those activities.
Search verification and sharing
Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools verification tokens are included in page metadata. They support an ownership check that the operator completes in each service's dashboard; placing a token does not prove that verification has succeeded. These tags are not visitor analytics scripts. The services can independently provide the operator with search-related reports through their own products.
The share action uses your device's sharing interface where supported, or copies the game page address to your clipboard. You choose the recipient or destination in your own app. The site does not receive the content of a private message or maintain a list of people you share with. If analytics is enabled, it can record the coarse share action described above.
Contact, retention, and policy changes
If contact details are published on this page and you use them to contact the operator, your message can include your address, its contents, and information supplied by your email service. Send only what is needed to explain the question. A page address and a description of the problem are usually more useful than sensitive personal details.
The site has no account deletion process because it holds no registered accounts. A local analytics preference has a 180-day expiry; provider cookies, hosting records, analytics reports, and contact messages have separate lifecycles. Retention depends on the service and operator configuration. This policy does not promise a deletion deadline for information held by an independent provider.
When operator or contact information is published, it appears below this notice. A listed contact address can be used for privacy questions, correction requests, and concerns. Available rights and responses depend on the circumstances and applicable requirements. If the site's features or services change, this policy should change with them so its explanations continue to match the deployed site.
Frequently asked questions
Can I play if I decline analytics?
Yes. Reading guides and opening game links remain available. A game provider's own network requests, storage, and privacy choices are separate from optional catalog analytics.
Does the catalog save my scores or searches?
It has no personal gameplay database and does not send search text or scores as its analytics events. An outside game may save progress under its own implementation and policies.
Why might my analytics preference disappear?
The choice is stored locally for one site origin. Clearing browser data, using private browsing, changing devices, or reaching its expiry can remove it. Analytics then use the default enabled setting. Open Privacy settings to turn them off again if that is your preference.
Where can I ask a privacy question?
Use the operator's contact details if they are listed below, and describe the relevant page or service. The site's privacy policy covers its own design; provider links help with questions about separate game, hosting, or analytics services.
